Muslim Movement In 19th Century >> Sahh Abdul Aziz (1746-1824)
October 29th, 2007 | by Qurratulain |After the death of Shah Waliullah his son and successor, Shah Abdul Aziz, took upon himself the task of his father. Shah Abdul Aziz carried on the spiritual mission on the lines and pattern set by his father, i.e. on the one hand he taught and preached to reform the people and on the other hand he established a centre to implement his revolutionary programme. The important persons of this movement were, Syed Ahmad Shahid, Shah Ismail Shahid, Maulana Abdul Hai and Shah Ishaque.
Abdul Aziz’s Fatwa, and His Programme:
After the completion of his preliminary work, Shah Aziz issued a Fatwa (religion decree) to the effect that the whole of the sub-continent had become Darul- Harb (the home of atheism). The nominal influence of Delhi-king did not alter that situation. Therefore all the powers of Muslims in India should either establish their Islamic Government by force or should migrate from here.
